Thai people grow marigold in tribute to late King

People in various provinces are growing marigolds in dedication to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
In Bangkok, the Don Mueang District Office has turned an undeveloped property in Songprapha area into a marigold field and is encouraging the general public to plant marigolds in their homes and at office buildings.
The government urges the public to grow marigolds or other yellow flowers, as yellow represents Monday, the birthday of His Late Majesty. Flowers planted now are expected to bloom by October 20th, in time for the royal cremation from October 25th – 29th.
In Songkhla province, the tribute campaign has led to shortages of marigold and an increase in the sales of gardening supplies, including fertilizer. Local officials and students are producing organic fertilizer for growing marigolds.
